The Gravelly Run area is labeled the Hamilton Preserve by the State and is in Mays Landing, Atlantic County.  It is a preserve that is managed by the NJ DEP, but they have not committed the resources necessary to protect this state treasure. We will be meeting in the morning on Saturday, September 17 at the intersection of Ocean Heights Ave and Somers Point Mays Landing Road to do a light cleanup and walk around the Preserve. Sign up for complete details!

This is a place that could be a wonderful destination in the area with the right vision and resources, but its fate has been left to the citizens who care enough about the place to keep it in respectable condition. The local, informal group Friends of the Gravelly Run, led by Denise Appelget, has been a critical reason why the Preserve still has a chance of being a resource for State and local communities.  We have invited local and state officials to the Preserve to see what is happening to the most beautiful areas in their jurisdiction. Come join us and lend a hand to keep this place somewhere you want to go.
